BIW Robotic Simulation Engineer

Job Overview

Tata Technologies Ltd, a leading global professional services firm specializing in engineering, design, and product lifecycle management, is looking for a BIW Robotic Simulation Engineer. This role is based in Chennai and focuses on the simulation of body-in-white (BIW) robot applications within manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Construct and develop robotic simulation cells tailored to BIW processes.
• Conduct reachability and feasibility assessments of robotic systems.
• Validate BIW tooling and optimize weld distribution, including selecting and sectioning welding guns.
• Prepare cycle time charts and develop layouts based on simulation cells.
• Perform offline programming and configure Robot Controller System (RCS) alongside simulation tools.
• Generate program downloads and validate operational processes within workcells or stations.
• Execute quality checks adhering to established standards and participate in customer reviews.
• Prepare documentation as per customer requirements and promote knowledge sharing within teams.

Skills and Requirements

• Proficiency in robot simulation technologies.
• Background in pre-engineering functions and optimizing layouts and cycle times.
• Experience with Robcad, Delmia V5, Process Simulate, and RCS configuration for robot models such as Fanuc, Kuka, and ABB.
• Familiarity with Microstation software.
• Exposure to global OEM environments, including Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), is advantageous.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering to qualify for this position.
