Bioinformatics Scientist

About the Role

We are seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to lead computational analyses involving genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets. This position blends comprehensive biological expertise with advanced skills in programming and statistics to transform sequencing data into actionable research insights. The position is fully remote with flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and operate bioinformatics pipelines for next-generation sequencing (NGS), RNA sequencing, single-cell, and proteomic datasets.
• Perform detailed statistical evaluations of biological data and interpret these findings.
• Create reproducible workflows using systems such as Snakemake, Nextflow, or similar workflow management tools.
• Present and visualize results effectively to biological and product teams.
• Work collaboratively with laboratory scientists to optimize experimental design.
• Contribute to the development of internal software tools, maintain documentation, and assist with data infrastructure management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a bioinformatics scientific role.
• Proficient programming abilities in Python and R; familiarity with Bash scripting and high-performance computing workflows.
• Practical knowledge of NGS data processing, including alignment, variant calling, and RNA-seq analysis.
• Experience with cloud computing environments and reproducible pipeline development.
• Excellent ability to compose clear documentation and communicate analytic outcomes effectively in writing.
