About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and diligent Bin Wash Operative to join our team based in Dublin. This full-time position involves early morning shifts and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. The key responsibility is to operate specialized vehicle-mounted equipment to clean customers’ bins on designated routes while ensuring safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow assigned routes to complete bin washing tasks effectively and timely.
- Operate the bin washing vehicle, lifting mechanisms, and cleaning apparatus safely and correctly.
- Ensure bins are thoroughly sanitized and returned to their proper spots.
- Conduct daily inspections of vehicles and equipment and report any faults or damages promptly.
- Perform routine upkeep and maintenance of equipment to maintain functionality.
- Manage supplies like water and cleaning agents to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle, equipment, and work areas.
- Use water judiciously to minimize unnecessary discharge and handle wastewater and chemicals safely.
- Work attentively around pedestrians, cyclists, and property to prevent accidents or damage.
- Adhere strictly to company procedures, including risk assessments and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in physically demanding or manual labor roles is required.
- Must possess the physical ability to perform the physical duties involved.
- Good communication skills in spoken and written English are necessary.
- A safety-conscious, reliable, and practical approach to work.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and early mornings.
- Confidence operating in residential and public environments with a positive, team-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working with water, cleaning chemicals, waste materials, and mud.
- Previous experience in vehicle or equipment operation and maintenance is advantageous.
