Role Overview

The BIM Technician will be integral to creating coordinated, top-quality Revit models and drawings for data centre projects, collaborating closely with the BIM and Engineering teams. This role specializes in MEP/M&E modeling, drawing production, and clash coordination, supporting BIM Project Leads and Engineering staff. Daily responsibilities include hands-on model creation ensuring deliverables meet accuracy, compliance, and project criteria.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all BIM outputs align with project timelines and milestones.
• Track modeling progress and communicate status updates to the BIM Project Manager.
• Develop and maintain Revit models coordinated across various disciplines.
• Conduct clash detection and facilitate issue resolution.
• Identify and clearly communicate clashes to Engineering Teams.
• Maintain model structure and efficiency following best practices.
• Apply internal BIM standards and quality assurance protocols.
• Implement client-specific BIM requirements according to project needs.
• Preserve model integrity, consistent naming, and data accuracy.
• Ensure that drawings derived from models meet company quality benchmarks.
• Set up and develop models adhering to Client BIM Execution Plan (BEP) standards.
• Supervise drawing production from Revit models ensuring accuracy and coordination.
• Maintain consistency in all project deliverables.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings representing Ethos.
• Collaborate with Engineering Teams and external stakeholders to align BIM models with design intent.
• Communicate BIM issues, risks, and progress effectively.
• Monitor the health and usability of models, including file sizes and performance.
• Ensure models remain clean and efficient to prevent degradation over time.
• Adopt best practices to sustain model quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead BIM coordination efforts at the project level, overseeing modeling teams and daily BIM activities.
• Escalate technical or resource challenges to the BIM Project Manager as appropriate.

Exclusions

• This role does not involve engineering design decisions or approvals.
• No responsibility for system layouts or technical design calculations.
• Models should not be externally issued without required approvals.
• BIM standards should not be altered independently.
• Commercial or contractual project management tasks are outside the scope.

Interfaces

• BIM Project Manager for reporting and guidance.
• Engineering Project Managers and Design Engineers for alignment.
• External consultants and coordination teams for cooperation.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience delivering BIM on MEP or multidisciplinary projects.
• Background working on large-scale, complex projects such as data centres.
• Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating BIM teams.
• Advanced skills in Revit MEP software.
• Familiarity with clash detection tools like Navisworks.
• Good understanding of BIM coordination workflows and processes.
• Knowledge of common data environments such as ACC or FORMA.
• Experience adhering to BIM standards, quality assurance, and ISO 19650 principles.
• Awareness of industry Revit add-ins to enhance modelling efficiency.
• Strong communication and coordination capabilities.
