BIM Coordinator

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled BIM Coordinator to become a part of our team, overseeing BIM processes throughout various disciplines in construction projects.

Primary Duties

• Manage the creation, updating, and upkeep of BIM models across Architectural, Structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Maintain uniformity in modeling standards, naming conventions, and documentation according to company BIM protocols.
• Lead BIM coordination sessions to detect and address model clashes using software such as Navisworks or similar tools.
• Provide support to technical engineers and draftsmen in effectively implementing BIM workflows in line with project standards.
• Produce coordinated drawings, schedules, and quantity take-offs derived from BIM models to support project needs.
• Ensure the BIM models correspond with the most current IFC and approved drawings.
• Compile and track clash detection reports, following up with teams to resolve issues.
• Contribute to the development of 4D time-based and 5D cost-related BIM integrations by collaborating with planning and cost control departments.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate BIM data exchange and model submission workflows.
• Conduct training and provide guidance to drafting and engineering staff on BIM tools and company standards.
• Assist in preparing as-built BIM models for project completion and client handover.
• Update BIM models to accurately reflect actual site progress and incorporate construction changes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• A minimum of 7 years experience in BIM coordination within the construction sector.
• Expertise with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and related BIM software.
• Strong background in multidisciplinary BIM coordination, including model reviews, clash detection, and resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP models in building projects.
• Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans, project BIM standards, Levels of Development (LOD), and model submission processes.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
