About the Company and Location

Kartik Steels is an established seller of steel and building materials in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, with over 35 years of operation. This position is based at the Bachhaon branch near Varanasi, and interviews will be conducted at the Head Office located in Varanasi city. The role requires full-time commitment with a six-day workweek.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

As the frontline point of billing at the counter, you are responsible for accurately processing every transaction. The company's stock includes various units such as sut, pieces, and kilograms, depending on the brand. You will be expected to work efficiently under customer time constraints, maintaining zero error tolerance.

• Generate GST invoices using billing software, ensuring correct entry of brand, grade, size, units, quantity, rate, and tax.
• Accurately convert measurements between sut, pieces, and kilograms for all bills and quotations.
• Prepare quotations for walk-in customers and contractors following the approved rate list.
• Issue e-way bills and delivery challans, handing them to drivers prior to vehicle departure.
• Verify that billed items correspond with loaded goods and weighbridge slips.
• Accept payments through cash, UPI, and cheques, posting receipts promptly against the correct bills.
• Greet and assist customers courteously, showcase products including TMT bars, pipes, sheets, cement, and hardware items, helping establish ongoing client relationships particularly with local masons and contractors.
• Manage returns by processing credit notes and ensure the bill register, cash, and related documents are properly handed over at the close of business.

Requirements and Eligibility

• Minimum 12th pass education; graduates preferred.
• At least 1 year of billing experience in steel, cement, hardware, building material sales, or related distribution environments.
• Proficiency with billing software and experience generating e-way bills on GST portals.
• Excellent mental arithmetic skills combined with a polite and confident demeanor when interacting with customers.
• Candidates must reside in Varanasi and be able to commute daily to the Bachhaon branch.
