About the Role

Join PwC Ireland as the Head of Pursuits, leading the firm’s strategic business development initiatives through managing competitive proposals and key growth opportunities. You will head a dynamic team focused on pursuit activities that support multiple service lines across tax, assurance, and advisory services, driving the overall growth agenda of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Steer the Pursuit team in executing the firm’s market growth strategy by overseeing the delivery and alignment of pursuits.
• Support all service lines with tailored pursuit efforts ensuring cross-sector effectiveness.
• Collaborate with pursuit leaders and account teams to identify and prioritize critical ‘must-win’ pursuits vital to firm growth.
• Guide the development of persuasive pursuit strategies, including preparation for meetings and creation of compelling proposals articulating the firm's value.
• Lead post-pursuit evaluations to integrate learnings for continuous improvement.
• Assist business development teams in spotting potential growth opportunities within wider firm pursuits.
• Manage account transitions due to Mandatory Firm Rotation and implement associated client channel conversions.
• Mentor and develop the Pursuit and Proposal team to deliver high-impact, value-driven outcomes.
• Introduce and oversee new technologies and AI solutions to optimize pursuit processes.
• Foster strong relationships with senior partners, clients, and internal stakeholders to secure favorable outcomes.
• Engage with the global PwC network to adopt and incorporate best practices.
• Coordinate with external vendors like design agencies and writers to ensure branding consistency and quality in pursuit materials.
• Implement business development training initiatives to elevate firm-wide skills.
• Ensure adherence to branding guidelines within all pursuit outputs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Project Management, or related discipline; advanced degrees such as MBA preferred.
• Professional certifications (e.g., APMP, PMP) are a strong advantage.
• At least 10 years in business development and client engagement within professional services, focusing on strategic growth.
• Minimum 7 years specializing in pursuit management, strategy, and proposal development for complex, high-value opportunities.
• Proven ability to cultivate and maintain senior-level relationships internally and externally.
• Experience facilitating business development training and coaching teams.
• Strong initiative with a track record of driving innovation and delivering best client solutions.
• Skilled in crafting and reviewing impactful communications under tight timelines.
• Expertise in storytelling and message management to align with client concerns and firm narrative.
