About the Role
An established Irish main contractor is seeking to recruit an experienced Bid Manager to join their team based in Dublin. This senior-level position demands a deep knowledge of the Irish construction landscape and proven expertise in managing construction bids from the initial opportunity to final submission. The company predominantly focuses on the residential construction market, so candidates with prior experience in large-scale residential project tenders will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire tendering and bid process from the initial examination to final submission stages.
- Coordinate contributions from estimating, commercial, planning, design, and operations departments to compile bids.
- Analyze tender documents to pinpoint critical requirements, potential risks, and opportunities.
- Produce clear, high-quality, and commercially oriented tender proposals.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership on bid planning and strategic positioning.
- Manage inputs from internal teams, consultants, and external parties effectively.
- Ensure accuracy and timely submission of all tender documents respecting deadlines.
- Enhance and maintain bid documentation, case studies, and other supporting materials.
- Assist with tender presentations, interviews, and respond to post-submission clarifications as necessary.
- Track upcoming tender opportunities and contribute to broader business development initiatives.
Experience and Skills Required
- A solid background with 6 to 10 years in bid coordination, management, or related construction tendering roles.
- Extensive experience within the Irish construction sector is mandatory.
- Demonstrated track record handling residential construction tenders.
- Comprehensive understanding of both commercial and technical elements of construction bids.
- Exceptional written communication and presentation capabilities.
- Proficient in managing multiple stakeholders and balancing competing tender submission deadlines.
- Strong commercial acumen coupled with keen attention to detail.
