Team Overview
The Asia Pacific Total Rewards team is pivotal to Visa’s people strategy across a vibrant and complex region. This team designs and administers benefits programs tailored to attract and retain exceptional talent throughout diverse markets, regulatory environments, and employee demographics. Their recommendations directly influence outcomes experienced by every Visa employee in the region.
Role Summary
As a Benefits Consultant within Visa's Total Rewards function for Asia Pacific, you will fully own benefits programs end-to-end across a portfolio of AP markets. The role balances strategic advisory responsibilities with meticulous execution, collaborating with senior business leaders, HR partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure program effectiveness and high-quality, compliant implementation.
This in-house position interfaces with various stakeholders: employees seeking benefits guidance, HRBPs managing complex scenarios, and business and finance leadership requiring insightful data on program performance and investments. Effective, credible communication tailored to these audiences is crucial. Reporting to the Benefits Director, the role is critical in shaping benefits that support Visa’s workforce.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead strategy, design, delivery, and ongoing enhancement of benefits programs across assigned AP markets ensuring competitiveness, compliance, and alignment with Visa’s people and total rewards strategies.
- Provide expert advice and partnership to HR business partners, employees, and leadership, delivering clear guidance on benefits intricacies, presenting program analyses, and supporting informed decision-making.
- Manage vendor relationships for benefits services: oversee procurement, contracting, performance evaluation, invoice control, and renewal negotiations, ensuring vendors meet agreed service levels and commercial terms protect Visa’s interests.
- Analyze benefits data including utilization trends, claims experience, and market benchmarks to evaluate and improve program effectiveness; present data-driven recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure all benefits programs comply with relevant regulations across markets; maintain accurate documentation, manage audits, and update employee materials promptly.
- Support regional projects such as new market rollouts, program redesigns, and enhancements to Workday systems; embrace AI and data tools to improve efficiency and advisory precision; identify and implement process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of eight years of experience managing benefits with direct, practical exposure to multiple Asia Pacific markets.
- Background spanning advisory/consulting and in-house roles is highly valued.
- Advanced analytical skills, comfortable constructing cost models, interpreting claims and utilization data, and delivering data-based recommendations.
- Proven ability to influence and engage a broad spectrum of stakeholders from employees to senior leadership.
- Practical experience with Workday benefits administration or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, adaptable for diverse audiences both verbally and in writing.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification; certifications such as GRP are a plus.
Additional Information
Visa requires employees in this role to work onsite a minimum of three days per week, with specific days to be confirmed by the hiring manager.
