About the Role

The Bell Captain position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, part of Minor Hotels' global portfolio that spans over 530 properties worldwide. Minor Hotels operates under various brands across multiple continents, including resorts and urban hotels designed to cater to diverse traveler needs.

The Bell Captain oversees bell desk operations, ensuring streamlined luggage handling, assisting guests, and managing transportation logistics. This position emphasizes delivering outstanding guest service while leading and mentoring the bell team to maintain high standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and organize daily duties of the bell desk and porter staff.
  • Guarantee prompt, respectful handling of guest luggage during arrivals, departures, and room relocations.
  • Greet guests warmly, provide assistance, and share information regarding hotel amenities and local attractions.
  • Manage guest transportation arrangements like taxis, airport shuttles, and valet services where applicable.
  • Keep detailed records of luggage movements and guest requests.
  • Train, schedule, and oversee bell team members to maintain service quality.
  • Ensure team members adhere to grooming, punctuality, and professionalism standards.
  • Effectively resolve guest complaints or issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with Front Desk, Concierge, Housekeeping, and Security departments.
  • Maintain the safety and security of guest belongings at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent; hospitality qualifications are preferred.
  • Have a minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in a comparable hotel role.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A guest-centric approach with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with the local area and attractions is advantageous.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
