Position Overview

We are seeking a Behavioral Threat Assessment Manager to join our embedded team with a client in Sydney, Australia. This full-time remote role operates on a schedule of four 10-hour days, with shifts subject to change according to business needs. The manager will oversee threat assessments for client personnel and operations, conducting behavioral threat assessments, case management, and related security tasks to safeguard client interests while fostering a positive culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain detailed threat research in the regional area.
• Identify, investigate, analyze, and manage potential threats to executives, employees, and partner communities as directed.
• Generate concise, actionable threat analysis reports promptly for decision-makers and security teams.
• Conduct comprehensive open-source intelligence investigations utilizing public records, government databases, social media, and dark web sources to detect current or emerging threats.
• Maintain collaborations with local law enforcement and investigative partners, as well as intelligence vendors.
• Work closely with customer service and operational teams to handle threat intake, coordinate responses, and resolve cases.
• Maintain global awareness of evolving threats and produce impact assessments.
• Manage complex security incidents involving multiple stakeholders, including those without intelligence expertise.
• Lead threat management meetings with various stakeholders to coordinate responses to high-level immediate threats.
• Contribute to program development including workflow design, threat methodology research, and strategic planning.
• Apply a collaborative, team-oriented problem-solving approach.
• Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, translating complex security topics into understandable terms.
• Adhere strictly to all relevant policies, regulations, procedures, and instructions.

Required Qualifications

• Legal eligibility to work in Australia without visa sponsorship.
• Between 7 to 10+ years in threat analysis, preferably behavioral threat assessment, threat management, or law enforcement.
• Direct experience supporting comprehensive threat management programs, including investigations, intelligence collection and analysis, and case handling.
• Proficiency in open-source research, criminal background checks, and online investigative techniques.
• Membership or eligibility for membership in professional threat assessment associations such as the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals.
• Flexibility to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, or holidays to respond to urgent situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills demonstrated in the hiring process.
• Adaptable and positive attitude with proactive problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to build partnerships and collaborate across functions.
• Professional proficiency in Google Workspace and macOS, with experience using AI tools to improve productivity.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
• Available for a four-day week of 10-hour shifts, occasionally including weekend days as business needs dictate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (APATAP).
• Interest in pursuing Certified Threat Manager (CTM) certification according to ATAP standards.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, though significant experience may substitute.
• International experience or specific regional expertise within the Asia-Pacific region.
• Language skills and cultural fluency across diverse populations.
• Skills in data analysis, reporting, and trend identification.
• Background in creating policy documents and planning materials.
• Experience in training design and facilitation.
