Job Summary

This role involves preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items, ensuring adherence to food safety standards (HACCP) and quality control. The Barista engages cordially with customers and teammates, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso beverages and coffee orders for customers and catering utilizing standardized recipes and portions.
• Accurately enter customer orders into the POS system and handle payments by cash or card.
• Maintain and replenish condiments, beverages, and supplies while keeping the service area clean and organized.
• Ensure proper food presentation, portion size, and serving temperatures following HACCP guidelines.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment, utensils, and workstations.
• Clean display and preparation areas promptly during and after service.
• Offer friendly and courteous service to customers, promptly addressing their concerns or escalating to supervisors.
• Serve customers efficiently to avoid delays and assist them by explaining daily menu items clearly.
• Promote sales through effective communication and supporting customers in their purchasing decisions.
• Keep display foods and serving areas visually attractive and neat per company standards.

Work Details and Location

• Position available at Starbucks within DePauw University located at 2 West Washington Street, Greencastle, IN 46135.
• Both full-time and part-time schedules available; shift hours vary and will be discussed during the interview.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage range from $14.00 to $18.00.
