Role Overview

The Barista plays a key role in delivering outstanding beverage experiences by crafting and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty drinks aligned with Rosewood's premium standards. This position fosters exceptional guest satisfaction through meticulous product preparation, personalized interactions, and rigorously maintained cleanliness and presentation in a luxurious hospitality setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional, and tailored service to all patrons.
• Engage customers to learn their tastes and suggest appropriate beverages along with complementary food options.
• Proactively address guest needs and efficiently handle inquiries or issues.
• Reflect Rosewood's commitment to authentic hospitality and upscale service during all guest encounters.
• Prepare a variety of drinks including coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, fresh juices, and mocktails, adhering strictly to company recipes and quality standards.
• Operate and upkeep coffee machines, grinders, and related tools.
• Consistently assess beverage quality, presentation, and appropriate serving temperature.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and seasonal beverage selections.
• Keep the workstation, counters, and service areas tidy, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
• Perform daily start-up and closing duties compliant with department protocols.
• Track inventory levels and report restocking needs to supervisors.
• Apply first-in-first-out (FIFO) practices to inventory management to reduce wastage.
• Follow stringent food safety, HACCP standards, and hygiene protocols.
• Maintain personal appearance and grooming consistent with Rosewood's policies.
• Ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance of equipment according to manufacturer instructions.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and emergency procedures continuously.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Preferred possession of a professional Barista certification.
• At least one to two years' experience as a Barista within luxury hotels, high-end cafés, restaurants, or related hospitality environments.
• Experience in preparing specialty coffee and espresso beverages is advantageous.
