Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate Barista to join our Food & Beverage team. The chosen individual will be responsible for crafting and serving high-quality coffee and related beverages while ensuring guests have an exceptional experience. Enthusiasm for coffee, meticulous attention to detail, and a dedication to superior hospitality are essential.

Core Responsibilities

• Create a warm and personalized atmosphere for guests, providing excellent service at all times.
• Prepare and serve diverse coffee, tea, specialty, and other non-alcoholic drinks adhering strictly to Hyatt's standards, recipes, and presentation protocols.
• Utilize strong product knowledge to suggest beverages, menu items, and ideal pairings based on guest preferences and dietary needs.
• Promote daily specials and seasonal products, leveraging upselling to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue.
• Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all beverages to meet Hyatt’s brand standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and hygiene of coffee stations and equipment, following food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain coffee machines and equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
• Process orders and payments accurately via the Micros POS system, adhering to all cashiering and cash handling procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels; assist in stock control, rotation, replenishment, and monthly inventory checks on coffee beans, milk, syrups, and related supplies.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries, requests, feedback, and complaints.
• Collaborate effectively with Kitchen, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and superior guest experiences.
• Support hotel events, promotions, banquets, and other Food & Beverage activities as needed.
• Stay updated with coffee trends, brewing techniques, and product knowledge through continuous learning.
• Maintain a high level of personal grooming, professionalism, and conduct representing Hyatt positively.
• Participate in and support sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing waste and promoting environmental awareness.
• Encourage teamwork and cooperative relationships aligned with Hyatt’s “We work through Teams” culture.
• Assist with operational records, inventory documentation, and other administrative tasks to promote departmental efficiency and compliance.
• Exhibit flexibility by undertaking additional duties or supporting other departments when business demands and guest service requirements arise.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience as a Barista within cafés, restaurants, hotels, or similar hospitality settings.
• Proficiency in coffee preparation techniques including espresso extraction, milk frothing, and crafting specialty beverages.
• Outstanding customer service skills alongside excellent communication abilities.
• A positive mindset coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
• Capability to perform effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Meticulous attention to detail with a steadfast commitment to quality.
• Good spoken English proficiency; knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of food safety protocols and hygiene standards.
