Role Overview

The Bakery & Decadence Clerk works alongside the Bakery Department Manager to uphold superior standards in product quality, display appeal, food safety, and customer service.

Primary Responsibilities

• Offer outstanding service by greeting customers warmly, answering inquiries, and suggesting product options.
• Help customers choose bakery items while sharing details about ingredients, flavors, and usage ideas.
• Keep bakery displays visually appealing and well-stocked to highlight product variety and quality.
• Ensure bakery goods are handled, packaged, labeled, and displayed expertly per company standards.
• Assist with inventory turnover, product freshness evaluations, and organization within the department.
• Adhere strictly to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and inviting bakery area.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to facilitate smooth bakery operations.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by the Bakery Manager.

Candidate Profile

• At least one year of prior experience in customer service preferred.
• A genuine enthusiasm for food and eagerness to share this passion with customers.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining excellent standards.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal interaction capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced retail setting.
• Effective at solving problems and managing challenging scenarios calmly.
• Positive outlook combined with confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.
• Capable of working autonomously while also contributing positively within a team.
• Adaptable and motivated to acquire new skills.
• Knowledge of food products and related experience is an advantage.

Physical Demands

• Regular engagement with customers and colleagues in a busy retail atmosphere.
• Capability to stand for prolonged durations on the shop floor.
• Frequent movement including walking, bending, reaching, and repeated hand and arm activities.
• Ability to lift items weighing between 10 to 40 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Working conditions may include exposure to varied temperatures and common food allergens.
