Bakery Associate

Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Bakery Associate provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills within the retail sector. This role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service while embracing Walmart's foundational principles and values. The associate is responsible for maintaining and organizing the bakery department, restocking products, and facilitating sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the quality and appealing presentation of bakery products, including bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Ensure the bakery area is fully stocked and prepared for customers.
• Correctly price and label all merchandise in the department.
• Comply with standards including cold chain requirements, thermometer calibration, temperature monitoring, proper food handling, product rotation, and adherence to sell-by and expiration dates.
• Follow procedures related to food safety, sanitation, and cleaning.
• Execute order processing, clearance management, markups/markdowns, and accurate labeling/signage.
• Prepare bakery items according to established thawing and baking instructions to maintain product quality and appearance.
• Secure all bakery displays safely and properly.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.05.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
