Bakery Associate

Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Bakery Associate offers an opportunity to gain valuable retail industry experience. This role involves delivering excellent customer service aligned with Walmart's core values, ensuring the bakery area is well-maintained, organized, and stocked, and assisting in sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the quality and appealing appearance of bakery products including bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Keep the bakery department fully stocked and prepared for operational hours.
• Ensure all merchandise is correctly labeled with accurate pricing and signage.
• Comply with cold chain standards, conduct thermometer calibration, record temperatures, handle food safely, rotate products appropriately, and monitor sell-by and expiration dates.
• Implement sanitation and cleaning procedures to maintain food safety standards.
• Follow proper processes for ordering, clearance, pricing adjustments, and labeling.
• Prepare bakery items by adhering strictly to thawing and baking instructions to maintain product quality and presentation.
• Secure all displays safely and properly.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $19.55 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
