Bagger

Job Overview

The Bagger role involves operating a bagging machine to correctly fill bags with product, ensure labels and weights are accurate, and verify each bag passes through a metal detector prior to leaving the bagging area. Additional duties may be assigned by the shift supervisor or department manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify that batch numbers and product codes on labels correspond to the product being dumped.
• Ensure the metal detector is functioning properly.
• Neatly stack bags on skids, using correct skid colors as required.
• Return unused labels to the operator for documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of the machine and surrounding work area.
• Identify malfunctions in metal detector and rollers and promptly report to supervisor.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
• Report any product shortages to the lead operator.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior knowledge of food manufacturing is preferred.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, along with good math abilities.
• Ability to continuously lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

This position operates in production areas where there may be strong odors and airborne dust from ingredients, as well as presence of machinery.
