Job description
Overview
The Bagger is responsible for operating bagging machinery to accurately fill product bags, verify proper labeling and weight, and ensure bags pass through a metal detection system before exiting the bagging station. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisors or management.
Responsibilities
- Confirm that batch numbers and product codes on labels correspond with the product being processed.
- Maintain proper functioning of the metal detector equipment.
- Neatly stack filled bags on the designated skids in correct colors.
- Return unused labels to operators for record-keeping.
- Clean both machines and the working area as needed.
- Identify and report malfunctions related to metal detectors or rollers to supervisors promptly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Report any shortages to the lead operator immediately.
- Perform other tasks as directed by supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
- Prior knowledge of food manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities, along with solid math skills.
- Physical capability to lift 50 pounds continuously during work.
Work Environment
This role involves working in production zones exposed to strong scents, airborne dust from raw materials, and operation of machinery.
