Role Overview
The Baggage Handling System (BHS) Operations Operative plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth functioning of the Red Sea International airport's baggage handling process. Working in shifts, you will oversee baggage operations, carry out inspections, document key performance indicators (KPIs) and incidents, and uphold compliance with operational protocols and safety standards. Close collaboration with airlines, ground handlers, and service providers is essential to ensure excellent service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise inbound and outbound baggage flows, including reclaim halls and check-in areas.
- Document performance metrics, incident reports, and daily shift operations accurately.
- Conduct routine inspections and area patrols to maintain operational, safety, and cleanliness benchmarks.
- Ensure adherence to baggage handling procedures in line with RSI regulations.
- Identify and report operational disruptions, safety breaches, and equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize baggage handling efficiency.
- Monitor baggage transport logistics to and from affiliated hotels.
- Assist during equipment outages and respond to passenger baggage-related queries.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with airlines, ground crew, and service vendors.
- Carry out additional tasks as instructed by the BHS Operations Manager.
