Role Overview

As a Backend Software Engineer on the Cloud Infrastructure team, you will architect and implement essential backend components that underpin Fireworks' high-performance generative AI platform. Your efforts will ensure that the system’s efficiency, scalability, and stability meet the demanding needs of AI workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop fundamental backend services that support system resource efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
• Engage in collaborative design and code reviews with cross-functional teams to maintain high engineering standards.
• Constantly analyze and enhance infrastructure performance for AI workloads, covering compute, storage, and networking aspects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline, or a commensurate level of relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of practical experience working with machine learning infrastructure technologies such as PyTorch, Vertex AI, or AWS SageMaker.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing, scaling, and optimizing enterprise-grade machine learning systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with AI or large-scale infrastructure platforms.
• Advanced academic credentials such as a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.
