AlgoDriven develops SaaS products targeting the automotive sector across regions including Australia, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Their notable products include EvalExpert for trade-in appraisals, DriveExpert for managing test drives, and APIs for pricing and VIN decoding, all servicing large dealership and OEM client data daily.
Our Engineering Approach
As an AI-focused engineering group, AlgoDriven's team integrates advanced coding agents directly with their terminal, repository, test suites, and deployment pipelines. Engineers primarily focus on defining precise specifications, thoroughly reviewing outputs, and owning the feature delivery lifecycle, while AI agents handle most code generation.
The role requires experience beyond standard autocomplete tools like Copilot, including constructing specs usable by agents, connecting agents to CLI tools or MCP servers, automating tests, and managing infrastructure with these agents, plus troubleshooting their limitations.
Role Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of backend features from conceptualisation through deployment, monitoring, and iterations.
- Lead the advancement and use of AI coding agents across the development pipeline.
- Investigate and resolve production-grade issues including performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies.
- Provide deep expertise in MySQL, including query optimization, index management, working with large datasets, and database migrations.
- Develop and scale backend services on AWS infrastructure.
- Engage in architectural decision-making and offer mentorship as the team expands.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum five years of hands-on experience building backend systems with both PHP and Node.js, possessing strong knowledge in both technologies.
- Proven practical usage of AI coding agents—not just code autocomplete—such as connecting coding agents to terminals and repositories, working spec-first, and deploying production code created thereby.
- Advanced skills in MySQL performance tuning and query optimization.
- Demonstrated capabilities in diagnosing and enhancing live backend systems.
- Currently residing in the UAE; while the employer provides visa sponsorship, relocation from other countries is not supported.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with custom agent tooling including MCP servers, CLI tool integrations, and agent-powered CI systems.
- Familiarity with production AWS environments, containerization via Docker, and front-end frameworks like React.
- Knowledge of queue systems, background processing, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience working on SaaS products, multi-tenant systems, or high-traffic backend environments.

Application and Interview Process
