Job Overview
Grid Solutions, Inc., a leading company specializing in smart grid solutions, is seeking to hire two Backend Developers. The company focuses on innovative products such as OpenADR, virtual power plant (VPP) and microgrid solutions, AI forecasting, electricity trading, and non-fossil value trading systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and sustain backend services and RESTful APIs primarily using Java (Scala) and TypeScript.
- Architect data models and relational database schemas while optimizing complex SQL queries to support the applications.
- Convert business requirements into robust backend logic and validation protocols.
- Develop, maintain, and execute unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and handle production and integration-related challenges efficiently.
- Collaborate with a globally distributed engineering team to integrate internal systems with external platforms.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 1.5 years of full-time professional software development experience; candidates with over 2 years of backend development are preferred.
- Practical hands-on experience with backend technologies and strong proficiency in TypeScript.
- Proven ability to develop REST APIs and manage relational databases including schema design and data modeling.
- Competency in writing and maintaining automated tests.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, alongside strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English for cross-border teamwork.
- Ability to work remotely during 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Indian Standard Time to align with the company's Japan-based schedule.
