Back End Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Back End Engineer responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining robust backend systems and APIs that support our advertising marketplace, campaign management, and analytics/attribution workflows. This position requires collaboration with product teams, backend engineers, and DevOps to deliver complete, scalable features.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain backend services and APIs supporting ad marketplace and campaign analytics platforms.
• Contribute to data processing and ad-serving systems handling large-scale data streams.
• Maintain backend architecture for autonomous AI-based agents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end product features.
• Model and manage data storage in both SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases, optimizing with caching strategies where appropriate.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and data security measures under senior engineering guidance.
• Write high-quality, well-documented, and thoroughly tested codebases.
• Deploy, supervise, and scale backend services using cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Containerize services using Docker; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Support CI/CD pipeline operations and improvements.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production environments utilizing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
• Participate in code review processes and contribute to setting coding and development standards.
• Develop and work within event-driven and microservices frameworks employing GraphQL, WebSockets, or messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ as needed.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience in backend software engineering.
• Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages, such as Python, Java, Node.js, Go, or Ruby.
• Strong grasp of RESTful API construction and asynchronous programming models.
• Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling fundamentals.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker), version control (Git), and modern CI/CD practices.
• Proven ability to deploy applications to cloud infrastructures like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of backend security best practices.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and effective communication skills.
• Adaptability to fast-paced, agile workflows with dynamic requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with application monitoring, logging, or performance analysis in production settings.
• Familiarity with messaging brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and GraphQL API development.
• Kubernetes operational knowledge.
