Back End Developer - Golang

About the Role

Join an expanding fintech company focused on payments as a Golang Developer based in Central London. This position involves building and scaling backend platforms in a product-driven engineering team to support customer-facing financial services.

Primary Responsibilities

• Architect and implement backend services using the Go programming language.
• Create scalable APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Develop technological solutions supporting payment systems and financial products.
• Engage in the full engineering lifecycle from design through deployment on production systems.
• Build and manage systems hosted on AWS or other cloud infrastructures.
• Enhance system reliability, scalability, and operational performance.
• Collaborate closely with Product teams and fellow engineers to tackle complex challenges.
• Participate actively in technical decision-making and uphold engineering standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated commercial experience programming in Golang/Go.
• Deep understanding of backend software engineering principles.
• Proven track record designing and developing APIs and microservice architectures.
• Strong AWS skills or experience with another significant cloud technology platform.
• Hands-on expertise with operating production environments.
• Ability to independently own problems and deliver solutions.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or financial services sectors is advantageous.

Additional Information

The position requires working from the central London office five days per week. Candidates may come from fintech backgrounds or other product engineering environments where they have built scalable backend systems using Go and cloud technologies.
