About the Team

Join the Audio Innovation team within TikTok's Multimedia Lab, a forefront research division focused on advancing immersive audio technology and its standardization. This team supports TikTok’s diverse application scenarios including short videos, live-streaming content creation tools, and VR/AR experiences. They actively engage with cutting-edge industry research and contribute to global audio Standards Developing Organizations such as MPEG, 3GPP, and IETF. The team emphasizes innovation by employing machine learning and neural network models, particularly generative models, to advance immersive audio methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement next-generation immersive intelligent audio understanding and processing algorithms devised by the department.
• Optimize immersive intelligent audio codec and processing systems for deployment across various domains including short video on demand, live streaming, and VR/MR platforms.
• Monitor developments in domestic and international audio standards, prepare comprehensive technical proposals, and help drive progress in immersive intelligent audio standardization worldwide.

Required Qualifications

• Possess at least a Master's degree in electronic information, computer science, multimedia, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.
• Have research experience in areas such as 3D spatial audio rendering, audio generation with GANs or diffusion models, voiceprint recognition, wake-up word detection, sound event detection, automatic speech recognition, or natural language processing.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms and proficiency in deep neural network design and tuning.
• Skilled in programming with Python and C++, and proficient with open source machine learning frameworks such as Kaldi, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Experience in conducting large-scale model training and dataset exploration is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in fields like electronic information, computer science, multimedia, machine learning, or AI.
• Practical experience in digital signal processing combined with AI/deep learning system development.
• Publications in major global conferences or journals related to audio and AI such as ICASSP, Interspeech, ASRU, ICML, NeurIPS, or AAAI represent an added advantage.
