Role Overview

Join Sunovaa Tech as an ATE Hardware Design Engineer working in Bengaluru, India, focusing on developing automated test systems for electronic and embedded hardware in advanced industries such as aerospace, defense, and automotive sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automated test equipment (ATE) for electronic and embedded systems including PCBs.
  • Create interface test adapters (ITA), test fixtures, interface circuits, cables, and harnesses to support testing.
  • Conduct hardware schematic design, thorough circuit analysis, parts selection, and hardware system integration.
  • Utilize instruments like oscilloscopes and digital multimeters (DMMs) for diagnosing and debugging PCB issues.
  • Perform PCB board bring-up, validate functionality, investigate root causes of faults, and execute comprehensive hardware testing.
  • Design and integrate various analog, digital, power, and communication interface circuitry.
  • Develop and verify ATE hardware tailored for aerospace, defense, automotive, or industrial applications.
  • Operate PXI/PXIe-based test platforms, DMMs, waveform generators, and other laboratory testing instruments.
  • Prepare detailed bills of materials, schematics, interface documentation, testing protocols, and technical manuals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with system engineers, embedded software developers, mechanical teams, manufacturing, and quality assurance for end-to-end test system development.
  • Provide hands-on support for testing and debugging in a laboratory environment.
  • Work onsite at the office five days a week due to the practical nature of laboratory work.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds BE, B.Tech, or M.Tech degrees in Electronics & Communication, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Possesses 4 to 6 years of professional experience in hardware design, automated test equipment, test equipment, or electronics testing.
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency in ATE and interface test adapter design.
  • Expertise in PCB troubleshooting, board bring-up, and hardware debugging techniques.
  • Experienced in creating and using test fixtures, cable harnesses, and various electronic interfaces.
  • Skilled in utilizing oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and waveform generators.
  • Deep understanding of analog and digital circuits, power electronics, and communication interface principles.
  • Familiarity with PXI/PXIe or equivalent automated test platforms is a plus.
  • Knowledge of LabVIEW or LabWindows-CVI software tools is advantageous.
  • Background preferred from industries such as aerospace, defense, avionics, automotive, or industrial electronics.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities are essential.
  • Willing and able to work five days a week onsite in laboratory environments.
