Job Description

The Manutention Associate is responsible for shelving merchandise, organizing the sales floor to maintain a safe and pleasant shopping environment, and providing customer service as needed. This role often requires operating forklifts, including reach trucks and order pickers, to unload merchandise from shelves and place items properly in the sales area. Preparing and carefully packaging assigned orders to prevent product damage, labeling accurately, and placing them in designated storage zones are also essential duties.

Main Responsibilities

• Handle merchandise by stocking shelves to maintain full inventory levels.
• Unload pallet shipments and arrange products on shelves following instructions.
• Merchandise new items and promotional products.
• Maintain clean, accessible aisles and present merchandise attractively.
• Organize and align products on upper shelves.
• Coordinate with other warehouse team members to ensure products are stored correctly.
• Adhere to Home Depot's customer service model: greet, connect, and thank clients.
• Ask open-ended questions about project needs to identify customer expertise and requirements.
• Safely move merchandise from temporary storage to shelves or unload items from upper shelves using proper equipment.
• Ensure customers navigate aisles freely and safely.
• Follow all safety policies and loss prevention methods.

Physical Requirements

• Bending, stooping, stretching, and twisting movements.
• Lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 3.5 to 5 meters (12 to 16 feet) to retrieve or place merchandise.

Working Conditions

• Variable schedules including night, evening, and weekend shifts.
• Warehouse environment may be dusty and noisy.
• Forklift operation emissions create gas fumes.
• Doors often open causing drafts and fluctuating temperatures inside.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of retail or distribution experience is advantageous.
• Forklift operation experience for reach trucks, forklifts, and order pickers is a plus.

Compensation

The salary for this role ranges from $20.10 to $21.85 per hour.
