Job Overview

We invite you to apply for the Associate / Senior Associate position in Derivatives Fund/Client Accounting within BNY's Fund Accounting team based in Dublin. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive accounting services for allocated clients and moderately complex funds, including calculating net asset values, evaluating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing detailed reports.
  • Implement Service Improvement initiatives, promote operational efficiencies, improve processes, and conduct specialist reviews within Fund/Client Accounting duties.
  • Review and verify outputs from junior team members and offer necessary guidance and support.
  • Carry out cash and asset reconciliations for complex accounts or transactions, ensuring proper expense allocations and accuracy in assigned funds.
  • Escalate unusual or exceptional transactions to senior personnel for review.
  • Prepare client reports on fund performance and review initial drafts composed by junior staff.
  • Engage with clients to clarify queries related to fund reports and accounting procedures.
  • Ensure accurate processing of all over-the-counter (OTC) trades in the accounting system, including asset creation for OTC securities and coordination with Security Master for asset data.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of asset static data and trade specifics to detect anomalies or nonstandard conditions, including term-sheet examination for complex OTC transactions.
  • Contribute positively towards achieving team goals and objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in accounting or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience.
  • Preferably have a minimum of three years of overall work experience.
  • Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is highly desirable.
  • Capable of mentoring less experienced colleagues.
  • In some regions, this role may include people management duties.
