Job description
Overview
This role is part of the Airport Operations Department within the Customer Services & Operations Division. The successful candidate will support the Safety, Security & Compliance team, playing a crucial role in airport ground safety, security, and load control activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to email inquiries from various airports and service providers concerning ground safety and security issues.
- Provide assistance in preparing documentation and readiness for Safety Management System audits and IATA Operational Safety audits.
- Support the execution of the annual Continuous Self-Assessment exercise.
- Maintain consistent communication with stations, updating them about any modifications to ground safety, security, and load control procedures while sharing best practices and lessons learned from past incidents.
- Ensure that auditors and operational staff maintain up-to-date training statuses.
- Revise and update procedural manuals when new policies are introduced, communicating such updates and ensuring availability in the central database.
- Compile and evaluate Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment submissions from stations on a biennial basis or as needed.
- Manage and review the HIRA register every two years in accordance with Safety Management System requirements.
- Organize meetings, events, and safety awareness campaigns as required.
- Coordinate the payment processes for fines to relevant authorities and facilitate recovery from service providers when applicable.
- Conduct surveys among involved parties and aggregate the findings.
- Perform regular Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments for associated departments every two years or as required.
- Collaborate with internal departments and stations to implement regulatory compliance changes.
- Execute ground safety and process audits at local (SIN) and international stations as per audit plans.
- Support incident investigations and hazard reports, ensuring thorough findings, corrective actions, and timely updates in the tracking systems.
- Analyze safety performance data to extract insights and prepare reports.
- Promote and drive safety and security initiatives, providing sustainable training for ground staff.
- Provide ad-hoc assistance during crises or significant flight disruptions at airports or foreign stations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma holder in any field.
- Preferably experienced in airport or flight operations.
- Knowledge of safety management systems is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for audits.
