Role Overview

As an Associate Renewals Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring customer retention and growth by efficiently managing the renewal process. Your efforts will directly contribute to maintaining and expanding Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) by aligning with customer needs and collaborating closely with sales and customer success teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive customer retention using effective communication through calls, video, and emails while minimizing churn and downgrades.
  • Manage the renewal process to secure and grow ARR.
  • Assess license utilization and complete necessary true-up processes.
  • Understand clients' business objectives to formulate accurate renewal quotes.
  • Support Renewals Managers and Account Executives with administrative tasks related to renewals.
  • Ensure timely closure of renewals.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and Customer Success Managers, using customer data and analytics to strategize renewals.
  • Coordinate with customers to verify that purchase orders and order forms are correctly filled to facilitate internal approvals.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sales or customer-facing roles such as SDR, BDR, sales operations, deal desk, customer service, or customer success management.
  • Progressive background in B2B software sales.
  • Familiarity with subscription-based go-to-market strategies focused on customer success and renewals.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented with a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and deal-closing abilities.
  • Preferred experience includes technical product knowledge, particularly in DevOps, software development lifecycle, or application development.
  • Alignment with GitLab’s core values and culture.
