Job Overview
We are seeking a permanent Associate Project Manager to join our Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Therapies (ICVT) business unit in Galway, Ireland. This role focuses on leading sustaining projects related to commercial single-use devices across various functions, business units, and manufacturing locations. Projects vary in size and cover all stages from initiation to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage cross-functional teams spanning multiple sites to drive projects of varying scale, including material substitutions, cost-saving efforts, geographic expansion, quality improvements, and compliance initiatives.
- Create and execute detailed project plans that address budget, timelines, risks, and performance metrics while tracking progress toward business goals.
- Collaborate with functional managers and leadership to prioritize and manage the sustaining project portfolio effectively.
- Guide geographically diverse project teams to achieve objectives, provide feedback on team and individual performance, and foster strong partnerships with key leaders.
- Address technical challenges related to product technologies and identify and manage moderate to high technical risks.
- Oversee all project phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Encourage team ownership of project plans and mentor both functional and project managers.
- Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and manage dependencies ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Promote compliance with policies and advocate for process improvements that benefit multiple projects.
- Facilitate communications within teams and between project groups and franchise leadership.
- Maintain documentation such as meeting minutes, issue logs, and key performance metrics.
- Communicate issues clearly across functions and influence stakeholders to resolve challenges promptly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Level 8 Honors Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of relevant project management experience.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and teams.
- Capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and facilitating open discussion.
- Ability to influence and motivate stakeholders without direct authority through relationship-building and persuasive communication.
- Experience collaborating across diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common objectives.
- Exceptional skills in project planning, prioritization, accountability, and progress monitoring.
