Job description

Company Overview

Optimo Capital is an RBI-registered Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) specializing in secured MSME lending, focusing primarily on Loan Against Property (LAP). Our mission is to serve small businesses typically underserved by traditional banks, utilizing a lean, technology-driven operating model.

Our product team works very closely with operational functions, creating solutions directly addressing challenges faced daily by credit, sales, collections, and operations teams. Our technological ecosystem covers the entire lending lifecycle, including loan origination and servicing systems (LOS/LMS), telecalling CRM, communications orchestration platform, document management, bureau and data pipelines, as well as integration with co-lending and channel partners.

Role Overview

We are seeking an Associate Product Manager who will lead the development and enhancement of internal and partner-facing tools supporting our lending operations. This role involves end-to-end ownership of features—from identifying problems, drafting specifications, coordinating development, to deployment and evaluating outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with end users such as telecallers, credit officers, operations, collections, and sales teams to translate their challenges into precise and actionable product requirements.
  • Create detailed Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories, and workflow specifications that enable engineering and vendor partners to build without ambiguity.
  • Manage delivery coordination with internal engineering teams and external technology providers, ensuring timelines, dependencies, and priorities are effectively handled.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and product rollout by validating builds, documenting processes, and ensuring user adoption.
  • Utilize data analytics from dashboards and databases to guide decisions, track conversion funnels, operational metrics, and assess product impact.
  • Support integration efforts with co-lending partners and sourcing channels (such as Direct Selling Agents) as our partnership base expands.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory and operational lending frameworks to ensure all products comply and serve practical business needs.

Candidate Profile

  • Up to 3 years of experience in product management, business or data analytics, operations, consulting, early-stage startups, or demonstrated ability to build impactful products or processes.
  • Strong analytical and structural thinking skills, capable of breaking down complex, ambiguous problems into clear insights and explanations.
  • Comfortable working with data, unafraid to explore spreadsheets or databases to verify facts rather than guessing.
  • A keen interest in fintech, lending, and financial services industries.
  • Highly proactive with a strong sense of ownership and self-motivation, following through on tasks without close supervision and focusing on outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the aptitude to collaborate across diverse teams, including business, engineering, credit, and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or exposure in fintech, NBFC environments, banking, or loan operations.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or familiarity with no-code/low-code platforms such as Retool or Airtable.
  • Basic skills in coding, scripting, or prototyping to aid product development.
  • Understanding of Indian lending technology stacks, incorporating LOS/LMS, CRM tools, WhatsApp Business API, and bureau data.

What We Offer

  • Complete ownership from day one, enabling you to develop and ship actual products instead of theoretical presentations.
  • A fast feedback loop from concept to impact, with real users to interact with directly.
  • In-depth exposure to the workings of a modern NBFC across credit, operations, technology, and partnerships.
  • An opportunity to learn product management hands-on, closely tied to real operational environments and business challenges.
  • Job offer upon successful completion of the tenure.
