This position requires occasional travel to Telford, England, and the successful candidate must hold or be willing to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a platform's overall health, ensuring stability, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Create, update, and maintain the platform roadmap, factoring in strategic priorities, risk mitigation, technical debt, and platform integrity.
  • Manage and prioritize resolution of technical debt and defects to enhance platform security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Lead incident response and root cause investigations, implementing preventative strategies to bolster platform resilience.
  • Continuously monitor platform performance and optimize operations to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory mandates, reviewing and addressing vulnerabilities proactively.
  • Support platform module management by setting priorities, aiding strategic roadmapping, and coordinating with other platform owners to synchronize plans.
  • Engage with stakeholders to align platform efforts with business and Chief Digital & Information Office (CDIO) strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers to improve user experience and deliver cost-effective, high-quality platform services.
  • Maintain and develop strategic third-party partnerships to leverage external expertise and services.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Familiarity with ITIL v4 practices.
  • Experience working within managed service models involving service providers and partners.
  • Proven capability in managing platforms and products through their full lifecycle, including decommissioning.
  • Skill in balancing feature development with platform stability, risk management, security, and compliance imperatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information effectively to diverse stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with one or more technologies such as on-premises data center management (including access control and power management), backup and restore tools (e.g., Veritas, Cohesity), storage systems (e.g., HPE, Dell), virtualization platforms (VMWare x86, Solaris, AIX), monitoring software (e.g., OpsView, Dynatrace), and project management office governance.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
