About the Role
Join WSP as an Associate or Technical Director where you’ll have a pivotal role in advancing the water environment sector. This position offers you the chance to lead technical teams, enhance the firm's water modelling capabilities, and contribute to impactful projects for prominent clients such as Severn Trent, Scottish Water Horizons, Welsh Water, and Southern Water. The role is centered on urban drainage modelling and wastewater systems with opportunities for career progression by fusing technical knowledge with leadership skills to develop others.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive the growth and innovation of urban drainage modelling expertise, staying current with emerging techniques, tools, and industry standards.
- Assist in managing daily operations and technical guidance of the technical delivery unit.
- Provide expert technical contributions on urban drainage assignments, collaborating closely with wastewater teams to deliver efficient, innovative solutions.
- Use independent professional judgment to address complex engineering puzzles and promote innovative approaches.
- Forge and maintain strong client partnerships and lead meetings effectively both internally and externally.
- Participate in business development efforts, including proposal creation and identifying strategic expansion opportunities.
- Represent WSP at professional industry conferences and forums.
- Disseminate knowledge broadly to enrich the wider water team’s expertise.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a relevant degree and is chartered or actively progressing toward chartership with ICE, IEI, IoW, or CIWEM.
- Demonstrates proven experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling with InfoWorks ICM, capable of reviewing and validating others' technical outputs.
- Has a solid understanding of Water Industry Specifications, the Code of Practice for Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems, and pertinent British Standards.
- Exhibits strong communication skills, including presentations, writing, and verbal interaction.
