Role Summary

We are looking for a highly capable Associate Director (Commercial) to join our expanding infrastructure division in Saudi Arabia. This pivotal leadership position involves guiding the team strategically through major programme delivery with an emphasis on post-contract phases and achieving commercial goals. The role also requires upholding the values of Turner & Townsend.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main contact for cost management issues and lead the Turner & Townsend team.
  • Motivate and guide team members, fostering participation and high performance.
  • Manage key client accounts, ensuring project execution assurance and maintaining strong client relations.
  • Provide assurance services including peer reviews, gateway and readiness assessments, as well as progress and performance audits.
  • Lead major program delivery roles, ensure stable operations, then oversee transition and backfill management.
  • Oversee and assure the quality of major programs within the region.
  • Identify recruitment needs, develop hiring plans, and create role descriptions.
  • Bring extensive experience in delivering cost management programs and project segments.
  • Contribute significantly to infrastructure business development activities and cost center growth.
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives, including proposal and presentation preparation.
  • Coordinate with project leaders during negotiation and execution phases.
  • Collaborate effectively with other divisions and teams.
  • Ensure delivery of premium service aligned with company systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Understand commercial drivers to align projects with business objectives and identify new opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a drive for innovation, challenge, and ongoing improvement in cost management discipline.
  • Take ownership of business unit performance and project profitability.
  • Identify growth areas and foster continued expansion within the market.
  • Develop talent by coaching early to mid-career cost management staff towards business and personal growth goals.
  • Manage remote teams efficiently across different time zones.
  • Maintain strong organizational and administrative skills.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 20 years of relevant industry experience.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related field.
  • MRICS accreditation required; FRICS designation is advantageous.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing team members.
