Role Overview
The Assistant Vice President - Software Governance will direct the centralization of Software and Hardware Asset Management (SAM/HAM) processes including implementing tracking tools throughout the asset lifecycle. The role demands establishing performance metrics, proactive governance of software end-of-life/end-of-support stages, and strong collaboration with Information Security and Audit teams to ensure compliance and transparency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, uphold, and enforce Software Governance policies and procedures organization-wide.
- Engage with stakeholders across Infosecurity, Legal, Procurement, IT, vendors, and business units to align governance efforts.
- Maintain and support ServiceNow platform modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HAM, and SAM.
- Define, monitor, and communicate SLAs and KPIs related to software governance activities.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with software license contracts.
- Lead management of internal and external software audits, including reporting and remediation planning.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of SAM/HAM tool implementations (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera) from requirements gathering to post-launch support.
- Manage software lifecycle tracking with emphasis on end-of-life/end-of-support visibility and remediation.
- Drive operational improvements in software inventory accuracy, data quality, and audit procedures.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through license optimization and renewal negotiations.
- Create and maintain compliance dashboards, tracking tools, and executive reports.
- Proactively identify compliance risks and manage mitigation strategies with timely escalation.
- Support change management for tool transitions, including communication, testing, and training stakeholders.
- Conduct security assessments to detect compliance gaps and collaborate with IT and business teams on remediation.
- Act as compliance lead during mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
- Coordinate team efforts to maintain updated compliance data and ensure audit preparedness.

Technical and Professional Qualifications

- Combination of leadership, coordination, and financial acumen to ensure sustainable operations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills fostering strong relationships among internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to ideate and innovate within the role.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or Master of Computer Applications (MCA) specializing in Information Technology.
Preferred Industry Experience
Experience in the Credit Cards or Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) sectors is preferred.
