Overview
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring customer satisfaction remains high, and meeting sales targets. They function as the acting manager during the absence of the Store Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager with daily store operations and staff management.
- Participate in merchandise presentation, shelf stocking, and packing/unpacking daily shipments.
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve escalated issues.
- Train, coach, and develop team members.
- Manage cash handling as well as the store’s opening and closing procedures when required.
- Assign tasks to team members and maintain store safety and cleanliness.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with store policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards.
- Responsible for hiring and performance assessment processes.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of retail experience.
- Minimum two years in a supervisory or management position.
- Flexible availability including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
