Job description
Role Purpose
Lead the daily operations of the showroom to achieve sales goals, deliver exceptional customer experiences, maintain standards for the store and inventory, and nurture a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth by owning daily, monthly, and yearly targets.
- Conduct daily reviews of sales figures and staff outputs; enhance metrics such as average transaction value (ATV), average selling price (ASP), units per transaction (UPT), basket size, and category sell-through rates.
- Promote upselling, cross-selling, customer reactivation, and localized promotions to boost revenue.
- Manage stock levels by monitoring stock coverage and requesting replenishments to avoid sales losses.
- Implement FIFO methodology, clear aging and slow-moving stock, maintain minimum base quantity (MBQ), and ensure visual merchandising standards for displays, lighting, cleanliness, and ambiance.
- Adhere strictly to store controls including opening and closing routines, cash reconciliation, daybook audits, and bank deposits.
- Maintain comprehensive records such as one-file documentation and gift coupon registers; prevent inventory shrinkage and damage.
- Conduct regular stock verifications and submit precise daily management information system (MIS) reports to the Cluster Manager or Head Office.
- Lead and supervise the Assistant Store Manager, cashiers, and sales team members by setting rosters, assigning individual targets, and providing training in product knowledge, sales techniques, grooming, customer service, CRM, and audit preparedness.
- Organize staffing for festivals and assist in employee retention initiatives.
- Ensure exceptional customer service through prompt billing, quick resolution of escalated complaints within 24 hours, CRM enrollment initiatives, loyalty program redemptions, collecting customer feedback, and reporting recurring issues to the Cluster Manager.
Qualifications and Capabilities
- Demonstrated successful experience of 3 to 10 years as a retail store manager.
- Strong leadership qualities with a business-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in customer management and analytical evaluation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Possesses a degree in any discipline or related education such as Retail Management, Business Management, Commerce, or Economics.
