Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Assistant Store Manager to join our Hervey Bay location. The position works a Sunday to Thursday schedule and plays a critical leadership role supporting the Store Manager to drive sales, foster a customer-focused environment, and enhance team performance while embodying Early Settler's core values.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Store Manager to boost sales and meet targets through effective merchandise selling.
• Assist customers in realizing their home design ideas by offering detailed styling advice, upselling, and cross-selling based on their needs.
• Coach and mentor the sales team to achieve objectives and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
• Manage daily store operations including rostering, financial oversight, administrative duties, recruitment, and onboarding.
• Help devise and execute strategies aimed at maximizing sales and customer service performance.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• 2 to 3+ years of retail sales experience with a proven ability to meet targets.
• Strong business insight and a results-oriented approach to convert plans into achievements.
• Effective team leadership skills to motivate staff in providing exemplary customer care.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and a positive, can-do mentality.
• Capability to balance client service, team development, and operational responsibilities.
• A sincere interest in home styling, furniture, or creating inviting living spaces is advantageous.

• Physically able to perform manual handling tasks such as lifting and moving various furniture items safely.
