Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC)

Position Overview

The role of Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC) involves delivering and collecting mail and packages along rural routes. This position requires using a personal vehicle and offers flexible scheduling, potentially including weekends and holidays to suit personal preferences.

Job Responsibilities

• Sort, lift, and push mail and packages of varying weights in preparation for delivery.
• Deliver mail accurately along designated rural routes.
• Collect or pick up mail from customers during delivery routes.
• Perform duties both indoors and outdoors regardless of weather conditions such as rain, snow, extreme heat, or cold.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least two years of driving experience.
• Possession of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18 years for insurance eligibility purposes.
• Successful completion of the Postal Service Test 473 with a passing score.
• Valid driver's license and availability of DMV printout if hired.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to accuracy and honesty standards.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach; capable of handling mail containers weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Compliance with strict grooming standards mandated by the company.
• Customer service skills to effectively interact with the community.
• Ability to present I-9 documentation as required.
• Subject to pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Additional Information

• Location: Reno, Sparks, and surrounding areas.
• Salary: $21.89 per hour, paid on a bi-weekly basis.
• Work hours: Full-time and part-time options available.
