About the Role
The Shoe Co., part of Designer Brands Canada, is seeking a committed Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a welcoming and inclusive store environment in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. This position champions coaching and directing a team to meet store goals including sales, recruitment, operational standards, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the store to maximize business results by delivering outstanding customer experiences.
- Create a unique shopping environment that promotes excellent customer service, attractive merchandise presentation, and strong operational standards to foster customer loyalty.
- Manage store operations encompassing policies, shrink/loss prevention, payroll, reporting, and scheduling.
- Recruit, develop, and train passionate retail team members.
- Model company values of Passion, Accountability, Collaboration, and Authenticity to enhance The Shoe Co. brand.
- Design and implement agile business plans to achieve set objectives.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and adaptability within the store and region.
- Maintain clear and open communication channels with the Store Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated track record of meeting sales and profitability targets.
- Competence in computer applications including email, MS Word, and Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic retail environment with a strong focus on customer experience.
- At least 2 to 3 years in progressive retail supervisory roles.
- Availability to work day shifts, closing shifts, and weekends as required.
