Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time Assistant Manager to join our flagship Sailmaker restaurant, a spacious 272-seat dining venue overlooking Darling Harbour. Sailmaker offers a buffet breakfast and an à la carte dinner menu highlighting contemporary and native Australian ingredients. You will work closely with the Restaurant and Bar Manager to ensure smooth restaurant operations, lead the team effectively, and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and manage the restaurant associates on a daily basis.
- Coordinate all facets of restaurant service for seamless customer experiences.
- Oversee initial and ongoing training and development programs for team members.
- Ensure strict adherence to all hotel and HACCP policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to foster cooperative working relationships.
- Respond professionally and empathetically to client inquiries and complaints.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven management experience in a large hotel or venue, with exposure to both buffet and à la carte dining preferred.
- Demonstrated passion for outstanding service delivery.
- A hands-on leadership approach focused on supporting and motivating staff.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards and hospitality best practices.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while multitasking efficiently.
- Highly organized with strong prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Possession of a valid NSW RSA certificate.
- Unrestricted Australian work rights and availability to work rotating shifts including weekends.
