Role Summary

The Assistant Manager will oversee the electrode production zone, managing over 30 personnel on one production line to achieve key performance metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). This role will prepare and train the L6 Electrode zone team before Start of Production (SOP) and work closely with cross-functional teams such as process engineering, construction, HR, and maintenance to establish robust physical and operational standards for efficient manufacturing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and train electrode zone team to readiness prior to SOP.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence post-SOP.
• Ensure all physical documentation like SOPs, work instructions, and check sheets are prepared and clearly communicated to team leaders and operators.
• Maintain target line throughput and promptly escalate issues.
• Achieve 100% compliance with all statutory regulations.
• Enforce 5S and autonomous maintenance practices with full adherence.
• Maintain safety and security of staff and equipment.
• Coordinate with maintenance for timely equipment availability and preventive maintenance (PM) schedule adherence.
• Implement skill development plans targeting triple versatility skill levels (3 x 3) for all E Zone operations.
• Liaise with quality, supply chain management, maintenance, and process engineering departments to ensure smooth operation.
• Handle production and quality abnormalities, driving problem solving via standard organizational methods.
• Ensure complete and timely data entry into MES/SAP systems for informed decisions.
• Manage waste disposal in accordance with established standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering (B.E/B.Tech).
• 8 to 10 years of leadership experience in production within lithium-ion cell manufacturing, paint manufacturing, solar cell manufacturing, or flexible packaging industries.
• Expert knowledge of feeding/mixing, slot die coating, and calendaring operations.
• Strong proficiency in handling exceptions, non-conforming product management, and CAPA processes.
• Experienced in problem-solving methodologies including 8D, Six Sigma, and 7 QC tools.

Desirable Skills

• Hands-on experience with cutting and stacking machinery, laser welding machines.
• Familiarity with statistical software such as Minitab.
• Six Sigma certification.
