Assistant Manager, Network Security

Job Overview

The Assistant Manager in Network Security supports day-to-day management of network security platforms that safeguard the organization’s IT infrastructure, connectivity, and digital assets, ensuring secure network communications, controlled access to internal systems, and the enforcement of network security policies company-wide.

Key Duties and Operations

• Assist in operating enterprise network security systems that protect connectivity and digital environments.
• Ensure network security technologies are correctly configured, maintained, and monitored to uphold security policies.
• Maintain uptime and stability of network security enforcement tools.

Firewall and Traffic Control

• Support management of firewall platforms overseeing incoming, outgoing, and internal network traffic.
• Maintain traffic inspection policies and enforce network segmentation within enterprise systems.
• Ensure firewall rules align with company security standards and connectivity needs.

Secure Connectivity Management

• Assist in managing secure remote access platforms that regulate controlled access to enterprise apps and systems.
• Maintain security controls for remote access services for internal users and external partners.

Zero Trust and Secure Access Services

• Support Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) platform operations to provide secured application access.
• Assist operation of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions for distributed and remote connectivity security.
• Ensure secure access methods function reliably and comply with access control policies.

Network Segmentation and Access Control

• Help implement and enforce network segmentation protecting critical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with network teams for correct application of segmentation controls.
• Support Network Access Control (NAC) platform administration to enforce device authentication and access policies.
• Ensure access policies are properly applied to connecting devices.

Email Security

• Assist in operating email security gateway platforms defending enterprise messaging from malicious threats.
• Maintain filtering rules and configurations to reduce email-borne attacks.

Monitoring and Incident Response

• Monitor network security platforms to ensure enforcement of protection controls.
• Support identification and response to suspicious network activities affecting connectivity.
• Investigate and resolve incidents related to network security platforms and connectivity.
• Assist coordination of response during security incidents involving network infrastructure.

Platform Integration and Documentation

• Coordinate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to align network security controls with enterprise platforms.
• Maintain documentation on network security configurations, standards, and procedures.
• Develop and support operational runbooks and technical documentation.

Cross-Team and Vendor Coordination

• Collaborate within the Network & Security Operations team to support various operational tasks.
• Provide assistance across network, endpoint, and infrastructure services to maintain continuous operations.
• Maintain in-depth security operations expertise while supporting broader infrastructure needs.
• Coordinate with vendors providing support for security technologies and infrastructure platforms.
• Assist in managing vendor support requests and technology maintenance.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with Cybersecurity teams to align security operations with organizational policies and governance.
• Work with infrastructure, cloud, and endpoint teams to ensure unified enforcement of security controls.
• Support internal stakeholders to maintain secure and reliable technology services throughout the organization.
