Role Overview
Join Macquarie Inn as the Assistant Manager to play a vital role in maintaining the pub’s lively atmosphere and community appeal. Situated in Dubbo, New South Wales, this establishment offers a genuine country-style experience, featuring exposed beams, open fireplaces, and spacious verandas, welcoming locals, travelers, and business visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage authentically with the regular patrons, becoming a familiar and trusted presence.
- Assist the Publican in ensuring the pub operates efficiently, safely, and with a great atmosphere.
- Gain experience in publican duties by guiding and motivating a dedicated hospitality team.
- Proactively address potential issues before they escalate.
- Consistently deliver energetic service and a friendly environment at each shift.
Physical Demands
This position requires hands-on work including manual handling and lifting tasks such as moving stock, kegs, and deliveries. Applicants must be capable of performing such duties safely and effectively.
Candidate Profile
- Experience working in bars, bistros, or gaming areas, with some supervisory exposure preferred.
- Prepared to advance career by taking on increased leadership responsibilities.
- Confident with strong interpersonal skills to represent the pub during management absences.
- Possession of current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Service of Gambling licences as required by state regulations.
