Role Overview
The Assistant Manager plays a vital role in bringing sneaker culture to life through energetic, purposeful leadership. Supporting the Store Manager, this role focuses on driving sales, coaching team members, and maintaining store operations daily. The Assistant Manager sets a positive tone on the sales floor, embraces ownership, and ensures customers enjoy outstanding experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the sales floor with energy, confidence, and a positive attitude, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Coach associates to enhance their product knowledge and service skills, encouraging enthusiasm among customers.
- Engage actively with the team to help meet sales targets and support customer interactions.
- Manage daily store functions such as opening, closing, cash handling, and staff floor coverage efficiently.
- Maintain store organization and readiness to ensure a seamless shopping environment.
- Adhere to safety protocols, loss prevention measures, and operational standards to safeguard people and merchandise.
- Demonstrate owner-operator responsibility by proactively addressing issues and upholding store standards.
- Utilize retail technologies and digital tools to improve customer engagement and streamline operations.
- Act as Manager on Duty when scheduled, providing clear direction and leadership.
- Contribute to the hiring, onboarding, and training of team members.
- Provide real-time coaching, recognizing successes and addressing performance shortfalls.
- Support store priorities by stepping in wherever necessary to assist the team.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum of one year retail experience, ideally including leadership or key-holding responsibilities.
- Capability to coach and motivate a diverse group, strengthening team engagement.
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
- Flexibility to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Dependable, self-driven with a strong sense of accountability.
- Basic comprehension of retail metrics (KPIs) and operational procedures.
Preferred Experience: Prior roles as key holder, supervisor, or assistant manager, experience in fast-paced or high-volume retail settings, and aspiration towards long-term career advancement in retail leadership.
