Assistant Manager - Data Modeler

Overview

We seek a seasoned Data Architect and Modeler to lead the creation and execution of an enterprise-wide data strategy and contemporary data infrastructure. The role entails designing comprehensive conceptual, logical, and physical data models, setting data standards and governance protocols, and aiding the growth of scalable enterprise data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Create enterprise-level and domain-focused data models in line with business demands.
• Develop and update conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Help establish enterprise data architecture and modeling norms.
• Design data integration patterns and facilitate data flow architectures.
• Convert business needs into scalable, well-managed data structures.
• Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams to design solutions.
• Support governance of data models and ensure adherence to data architecture policies.
• Implement and advocate data modeling standards, frameworks, and best practices.
• Contribute to documentation such as data dictionaries, business glossaries, and definitions.
• Participate in data governance committees and cross-team collaborations.
• Ensure data management practices address quality, security, compliance, traceability, and consistency.
• Maintain documentation, standards, and guidelines for data architecture.
• Assist with the architecture and deployment of modern enterprise data platforms.
• Work with data engineering teams to develop scalable data infrastructure.
• Support initiatives involving BI, analytics, reporting, and data engineering.
• Align data architecture with business and technical goals.
• Contribute to large data transformation and modernization projects, spanning cloud and on-prem systems.
• Support metadata management, including developing repositories and enabling data lineage, ownership, and system-of-record tracking.
• Implement enterprise data management best practices and explore innovative technologies such as AI-powered data management.
• Engage with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, explain complex concepts, and promote consensus on data standards and strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 8 years in data architecture, data modeling, or analytics engineering roles.
• Proven ability in designing and executing enterprise data platforms and expansive data solutions.
• Experience with both cloud-based and on-premises data environments.
• Proficient in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling techniques.
• Hands-on expertise with tools like ERwin, ER/Studio, or comparable data modeling software.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise data architecture principles and integration patterns.
• Demonstrated background in data governance, metadata management, lineage tracking, and maintaining data quality.
• Skill in translating business needs into technical data architectures and working effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in compliance-heavy or highly regulated sectors.
• Familiarity with enterprise data governance frameworks and operating models.
• Understanding of modern cloud data platforms and data engineering toolsets.
• Exposure to enterprise metadata management and data cataloging solutions.
• Background in consulting, financial services, or similarly complex corporate environments is a plus.
• Knowledge or experience with AI-enabled data management technologies is advantageous.
