About the Role
We are seeking a Data Engineer with 6 to 8 years of experience to join a leading e-commerce platform company in Bangalore. The role involves designing and implementing large-scale enterprise data platforms and pipelines leveraging distributed data processing technologies.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and enterprise data platforms.
- Develop ETL/ELT processes supporting data lake and data warehouse architectures.
- Optimize queries and ensure data quality and governance standards are upheld.
- Implement data models and work on high-volume, low-latency data flows.
- Participate in Agile product engineering teams and collaborate with stakeholders effectively.
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience (6-8 years) in data engineering and building large-scale data infrastructures.
- Proficiency with distributed data frameworks such as Apache Spark, Apache Flink, and BigQuery.
- Strong programming skills in Python or Java, with emphasis on writing clean, efficient, and optimized code.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms including at least one of AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of data lake architecture, data warehousing, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Understanding of data governance and data quality management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-native data services and DevOps/CI-CD practices for data platforms.
- Good grasp of distributed computing concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills including stakeholder management.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.Tech/B.E.) or a related field such as Computer Science or Information Technology is required.
