Role Overview
The position of Assistant Head Teacher is a full-time, onsite role based in Doha, Qatar. The appointed individual supports the Head Teacher in leading and managing the school effectively. Key responsibilities encompass planning, delivering, and evaluating the curriculum to maintain rigorous academic standards and foster holistic education.
The role involves overseeing daily teaching and learning processes, mentoring teaching staff, coordinating professional development programs, and monitoring student progress. Promoting positive behavior, safeguarding practices, and compliance with school policies and regulatory frameworks are essential. Furthermore, cultivating collaboration with families, faculty, and leadership helps create an inclusive, learner-focused environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Substantial expertise in Education and Pedagogy, with capability to execute effective instruction strategies across varied classrooms.
- Proven curriculum development experience, including the design, implementation, and continuous review aligned with international benchmarks.
- Educational leadership background demonstrating team guidance, teacher support, and overall school enhancement contributions.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff, students, parents, and for preparing documentation.
- Possession of a relevant teaching certification alongside a bachelor's degree in Education or a related discipline; advanced degrees are preferable.
- Experience in school leadership or middle management roles, ideally within international or bilingual school contexts.
- Ability to operate in multicultural settings, adapt to local laws and cultural expectations, and promote inclusive, non-discriminatory practices.
- Excellent organization, problem-solving, and decision-making aptitude, with a student-centered focus on welfare and learning outcomes.
